How To Seamless Join Double Crochet in Round

Usually when we working double crochet in round a visible join line will appear.

There are many crocheters come out with different ways to get the perfect seamless join.
Such as;
➣start with standing double crochet instead of CH 2,
➣count or do not count the CH 2 as a stitch,
➣replace the first 2 stiches with SC & HDC,
➣increase DC at the end instead of beginning of round,
and many…….. but I just couldn’t find any of my liking because most of the finishes will shown up a small bump or a horizontal join line like so 👇, which is formed by the slip stitch join.

So, in order to get a seamless join, the little bumps formed has to be covered up.
I have had tried to figure out how and the result as below comparison 👇

Just a simple change of the beginning of the stitch to obtain this seamless join.
I will use FS as the abbreviations of first stitch. This FS will be the stitches to replace CH2.

FS – First Stitch
➣With no chain, insert hook into the beginning hole
➣Hook over and pull working yarn through the stitch (yarn over if working with solid yarn)
➣Pull through 2
➣Twist the hook anti clockwise (skip this twist if working with solid yarn)
➣Chain 1
The Instruction :
Count the beginning stitch as a stitch
– For round 1, if the pattern begin with 11 DC in the magic ring, the CH 2 count as a stitch and continue with 10 DC.
FS start at the 2nd round.
Join the round at the 2nd stitch
Do not join at the CH 2 (round 1) or CH1 formed at FS.
Start the round below the slip stitch
The FS and the increase DC start at the hole formed below slip stitch.

Hook Over
The yarn should position below the hook when you hook over

Note :
  1. If you are trying this and have any amendment on the instruction, please feel free to comment.
  2. This is my own creation, if you come across anyone with the same instruction I’m not copying, perhaps is coincidence.
  3. Happy trying and I hope you enjoy. Thanks

Sample :
Let have a look beanies below, one I worked with seamless join and one with the slip stitch join. You still able to see where the join work done at seamless join but I believe it will be gone slightly invisible after a wash.
