I’m using discontinued Radiant Cotton yarn in pink and grey from my local online yarn store @ Cotton House Store (ship internationally).
This dress modified from Maria Bittner, Butterfly Kisses Dress. I’m using thinner yarn weight, hence I don’t follow the original stitch count. The pattern come in 2 sizes; 3-6 months & 6-12 months. My dress are in 6-12 months size but I made it longer. I changed the decorative butterfly to flower. Also replaced the button with crochet long tail braid
Note :
CS = cluster sts = 1 DC, CH2, 1DC
Tips : Down size the hook when working with TC to obtain same gauge/tension as DC
Pattern :
With Pink
R1 – 80 Foundation SC, Ch2 turn (80)
R2 – HDC X 12, CS, HDC X 14, CS, HDC X 24, CS, HDC X 14, CS, HDC X 12, Ch2 turn (76 + 4 CS )
R3 – DC X 13, CS, DC X 16, CS, DC X 26, CS, DC X 16, CS, DC X 13, Ch2 turn (84 + 4 CS )
R4 to R10 – DC on each sts and CS on every Ch2 space – each row increase 4 sts. (144 + 4CS)
R11 – DC till the first CS, Ch3, skip 30sts. DC from the CS till the next CS, Ch 3, skip 30sts, DC from the CS till end, (84 + 6 chains)
Change to Grey Ch2 turn
R12 to R14 – DC all round (90)
Change to Pink and working in round
R13 – TC X 11, CS, TC X 21, CS, TC X 22, CS, TC X 21, CS, TC 11, joint Ch3 (86 + 4CS)
R14 to R25 – TC on each sts and CS on every Ch2 space – each row increase 4 sts. (134 + 4CS)
Change to Grey
R26 to R29 – TC on each sts and CS on every Ch2 space – each row increase 4 sts. (154 + 4CS)
R30 finish up with SC all round
On top of the dress(neck opening), finished with SC all round, when reach CS 3 single crochet together
Crochet a small flower or any other applique to attach on the dress.
Baby laying most of the time, button may not comfortable.
So, I chained a long tail braid on the both side of the top opening.
Secure the opening with bow instead of button.
