I’m using milk cotton yarn from my local online yarn store @ Cotton House Store (they do ship internationally).
I did not swatch the gauge, please refer the final completed sizes below for reference. Selina Green design this pattern for new born sizes and believe that she is working with thinner yarn weight with size 4 crochet hook. I had modify the pattern as below to obtain the size that can be fit on 6-12 months old. Also added buttons and sleeves. I like the puffiness of the bubble stitches. This pattern work on any kind of yarns but if you are using thicker yarn it may turn out overly puffy. Choose your own preference and play around with the pattern to obtain your own size.

R24 sc all round to finish up the edge, slst ch1,
R25 sc all round till neckline, ( dsc, sc X 3 ) X 10, cont. sc all round, slst ch 1
R26 sc round sc @ both sides, slst @ neckline, slst.
Arms
Joint the arm hole with chain 2 then 24 DC for 14 rows, and 24 sc for 3 rows.
