Yarns & Colours
I’m using both yarn by Moda Vera with different thickness. To understanding the stitch pattern and the yarns, I have listed more in my other post, here at Garter Slip Stitch Knitting Pattern (click on the underline/bolded title to read more).
Before Start
Note :
- This pattern not required skill on colour change technique. We will be changing or switching the yarn every 2 rows.
- Vest knit in the round.
- How to handle the yarn when changing the colour? Drop the main colour in-front the work(right side) until you need to pick it up again. And drop the second colour at the back(wrong side) until you need to pick it up again. In this way, there is not tangling as well as nice colour change at the wrong side.
- Changing colour when knit back and forth; drop colour A, bring up colour B under colour A, make sure not pulling too tight. Repeat same.

Front Piece (Armholes & Neck Shaping)
Pick up the other half numbers of the stitches and working for the front piece.

How much yarn ( in yards) should I be getting for a size small? Thanks!
Hi Robin, approximate 320yards for size S.
Hello. Is this pattern for an adult or a child???
Is for adult. You can refer chart for the measurements.
Thank you for this lovely pattern. I am a bit confused about the arm shaping. The pattern says:
βAt every beginning of 2 rows;
BO 3 sts 1 (2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2) times, BO 2 sts 1 (1, 2, 3, 3, 3, 4) times
At every beginning of 4 rows;
BO 1 st 1 (1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8) times.β
Does this mean (if I was doing the largest size) that I would BO 6 sts + 8 sts = 14 sts at the beginning of the first two rows of Color A. Continue with Color B. Then BO 8 sts at the beginning of the next row of Color A? That seems like too many stitches to bind off all at once.
Hi Kathry,
At every beginning of 2 rows;
BO 3 sts 2 times, BO 2 sts 4 times
Mean you are going to ;
BO 3sts at the beginning of row, knit in pattern till end, turn the work
BO 3sts at the beginning, knit in pattern till end, turn
repeat the above 2 rows 1 more time then
BO 2 sts at the beginning, knit in pattern till end, turn the work
BO 2 sts at the beginning, knit in pattern till end, turn the work
repeat the above 2 rows 3 more time.
Then the pattern instruction below;
At every beginning of 4 rows;
BO 1 st 8 times.
Mean you are going to ;
BO 1st at the beginning of row, knit in pattern till end, turn the work.
BO 1st at the beginning of row, knit in pattern till end, turn the work.
Knit in pattern for the next 2 rows.
Repeat the above 4 rows 7 more time.
Now you had BO the total of 22sts in the left and 22sts in the right.
I hope this is clear.
Happy Knitting
